Who they are
Networks and programs
For a group near a military installation, United Concordia participation is effectively the gateway to the military-family patient base. Program rules, cost-shares, and networks for TDP/ADDP follow the government contract, not United Concordia’s commercial products. See TRICARE dental.
Enrollment and credentialing
- Commercial and TRICARE network participation both start at unitedconcordia.com; TRICARE network status is contracted with United Concordia as administrator, not with the Defense Health Agency directly.
- Highmark ownership does not merge the paperwork: United Concordia dental credentialing is separate from any Highmark medical relationship.
- Keep CAQH current. See Set up CAQH.
Billing notes
- Standard 837D/ADA claim form workflow for commercial claims; confirm payer IDs with your clearinghouse; TRICARE program claims may route differently from commercial United Concordia claims, per the program’s provider documentation.
- TDP/ADDP benefit rules (cost-shares, covered services, referral requirements) are set by the government contract and differ from commercial plan design.
- Timely filing is contract- and program-specific. Verify against the current provider documentation.
