MetLife reports administering dental benefits for more than 21 million people in the United States.1 Since April 2025, its dental credentialing process has used the multi-payer SKYGEN Dental Hub. Payer portals, forms, IDs, and procedures change frequently. Timely-filing limits and other participation terms come from the applicable current payer materials and your executed agreement. Use this page as a starting point, then verify the product, entity, provider, location, and effective date with the payer.

Who they are

Networks

Access points count participating locations, not unique dentists; carriers’ network figures are not directly comparable across that distinction. Note the common mix-up: MetLife does not administer today’s military dental programs; the TRICARE Dental Program is administered by United Concordia.

Enrollment and credentialing

  • Provider enrollment starts at metlifedentalprovider.com/enrollment (provider servicing historically at metdental.com).2
  • Effective April 2025, MetLife moved dental credentialing onto the SKYGEN Dental Hub, a multi-payer digital credentialing platform.2 A group already using Dental Hub for another payer reuses the same provider data; a group that isn’t will create Dental Hub accounts as part of MetLife enrollment.
  • Keep CAQH profiles current regardless; commercial carriers anchor credentialing data there. See Set up CAQH.

Billing notes

  • Standard 837D/ADA claim form workflow through the major dental clearinghouses; confirm the current payer ID with your clearinghouse rather than a cached list.
  • Timely filing and attachment requirements are contract- and plan-specific. Verify against your executed participation agreement. See Timely filing limits.
