# Dental payer directory

> The major US dental payers: commercial carriers and their networks, Medicaid dental benefit administrators, government dental programs, and where to start provider enrollment with each.

The dental payers and administrators a US dental group may encounter: who owns them, which products or networks they support, and where participation research starts. A shared corporate logo does not establish participation: verify the dental product, contracting entity, network, billing and rendering providers, locations, and effective dates rather than importing a medical-network status.

Payer portals, forms, IDs, and procedures change frequently. **Timely-filing limits and other participation terms come from the applicable current payer materials and your executed agreement.** Use this page as a starting point, then verify the product, entity, provider, location, and effective date with the payer.

## Delta Dental member companies

Delta Dental is a federation of **39 independent member companies** under the Delta Dental Plans Association.1 [Delta Dental's join page](https://www.deltadental.com/dentist/join-our-network/) routes a dentist by state, but the resulting contract, credentialing, network reciprocity, product access, and servicing arrangement must be confirmed with the identified member company; a national claim-access network does not necessarily mean a separate contract with every member company.

| Item | Detail |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Networks** | Delta describes **Premier** and **PPO** as nationwide networks; confirm the member's product, the dentist's contracted network, reciprocal access, and the servicing company's allowance for the claim |
| **Credentialing** | Start with the member company to which Delta routes the service location; the reviewing company, delegated arrangement, and platform can differ (e.g., DDS Enroll for Delta Dental Ins. Co. states; DentalXChange for Tennessee) |
| **Recredentialing** | Cadence and event-triggered updates follow the applicable member-company agreement and current credentialing instructions |
| **Multi-state note** | Start with the member company routed for each service location, then document the actual contracting company, networks and products, reciprocal access, fee schedules, and effective dates |

## Medicaid and government-program dental administrators

Medicaid dental can run through state FFS, a comprehensive MCO, a dental-only prepaid plan, an administrative-services vendor, a dental subcontractor, or a mix that varies by population, product, geography, and date. “DBA” is an industry label, not a uniform legal or contracting role. Verify the state program and product documents before treating an organization below as the plan, contract party, credentialing body, claim receiver, or payor.
